From the desk of the Lower Class Revolt HQ based in San Francisco, California: Hello and thanks for checking in! There’s always a lot going on so here’s a quick update.

First, thanks to Murder of Lilies, CUPIDS and Evacuee for playing our show on May 28th at the KnockOut in San Francisco. Short power packed sets by all the bands made the night fly by all too quick! Thanks for everybody for your continued support! It was also great to see a lot of new faces checking out what we’ve got going. And as always, thanks to dX and John for hosting our monthly event!

In other news-Will would like to send a big thanks to everybody for making his visit down to Los Angeles a fun one. Will spent some time at Pehrspace and hung out with the likesTigers Can Bite You, Light FM, Happy Hollows, and Rademacher. Keep your eyes on these pages as we expand our reach into the Southern California region.

A Friends of LCR update: We bumped into Matt from Form and Fate the other night. Their new set of recordings is almost complete. As is the recordings from Evacuee! Got our hands on some new Harbours  recordings. Amazing. Welcome back to Rykarda Parasol! She’s just returned from a successful European tour! Check out everybody’s Myspace pages for updated itineraries–lots of amazing live shows coming up this summer—like we’re ever going to find time to sleep. Or work. Or both.

Loud? Try The Pioneers “..best of  “longshot kick de bucket” on Trojan Records (Catalog#347).wow.

Our compilation, the Lower Class Revolt Volume One release show is coming up on June 25th at the KnockOut in San Francisco and will be co-sponsored by our friends at West Coast Performer magazine. Rademacher, Tigers Can Bite You and Light FM will be appearing. Free CDs to the first 50 through the door. Should be an amazing night! Mark your calendars!

Summer inches closer–save your dough for the shows! And our releases of course.

Members of The Lower Class Revolt

May 22, 2008

Members of the Lower Class Revolt it’s so good to be with all of you again! We’ve been busy little workers over the last seven days as things are gearing up for a summer full of music and friends. And then some more music and friends. We’ve even purchased a hide-a-bed for the LCR office if that makes any difference!

First and foremost, a big thanks to Jonny at The Independent here in San Francisco for the first class set up for the Clinic and Shearwater show earlier this week. Clinic has been in heavy rotation in the LCR office for years now and we’re wonderful once again. And might we add that Shearwater nearly stole the show with their amazing performance. An incredible night and we have the merch and tour only CDs to prove it!

While we’re talking people and shows, we’ve re-connected with the one and only Barbara Mitchell. Our dear friend has been spending her time between Seattle, Portland and Australia and it’s great to see that she’s still heavily in the mix. Barbara ruled the Northwest with her company Deluxxe Media before heading out into the world of freelance. Hopefully you’ll be reading a lot more about Barbara on this blog!

Hot tip: Tim Scanlin returns to San Francisco with his band ActionSlacks. They’ll be at The Café Du Nord on Sunday May 25th. They’re finishing up some recordings at Tiny Telephone—can’t wait to hear it!

We’d like to welcome Luke Judd on board as our official videographer. Lots of you have already seen Luke’s work as the visual maestro for the likes of our very own The Aimless Never Miss. Luke will be working with us on expanding our web exclusive video content and also expanding his role with a number of other bands in the Bay Area.

We’re putting the call out to bands for Volume Three of our Lower Class Revolt compilation due out in January. Interested? I know we are. Email us HERE. Hope to hear from you soon.

And finally, please don’t forget to mark your calendars for next Wednesday May 28thfor our show at The KnockOut in San Francisco! Murder of Lilies, CUPIDS and Evacuee will be taking the stage for a night of amazing music. For those of you that are thinking about coming out, remember we’re working class around here. The shows start early (9:45pm) and ends early (midnight)—dawn comes soon enough right?  Hope to see you there.

May 15, 2008

Just a quick note to let all of the faithful know that the amazing Evacuee will be taking the opening slot on our May 28th show at the Knock Out due to the last minute cancellation of Hospital Kids. Here’s a great opportunity to see a super well rounded show–Murder of Lilies, CUPIDS, and Evacuee–all for only $4 at the Knockout in San Francisco.

Also, we bumped into an old friend of ours via the worldwide web –Nikki Colk–the voice and the front person of our beloved KaitO (RIP) has re-appeared! She’s living in London now, having moved down from Norwich and we’re happy to report that she’s in a new band and is active in music again. Here’s some of her solo stuff thanks to MySpace.

Counting, counting, counting down. Plus. See you soon.

A Big Thank You To Those of The Lower Class Revolt!!

We just want to send out a big thanks you for the massive response and readership of recently launched LCR site and blog. The support has really energized us to keep it rolling. Like we were going to stop! The whole idea of the Lower Class Revolt is to become a collective of sorts so by all means, please get in touch if you’d like to come on board in any capacity or just drop us a note to simply say “hello”.

We’d like to take this opportunity to welcome James Miaz and his booking agency Wicked Annabella Productions on board. He’s signed on to take over the booking responsibilities for two of our bands: The Aimless Never Miss and Tigers Can Bite You. Both bands have records coming out on in September (Aimless on Devil in the Woods, Tigers on New and Used). Look for both bands to be taking on a lot more West Coast dates in the coming months.

Also a quick thanks to Murder of Lilies for taking care of us at the Red Devil Lounge here in San Francisco on Friday May 9th.

Hot Tips: Built for the Sea at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on May 17th. And San Francisco’s Form and Fate are in the studio.

Got any hot tips? Let us know!

We’d like to send a quick hello to San Francisco’s Rykarda Parasol who is currently on tour in Europe!

In related news, Volume Two of the compilation series is set for a September release and looks to be at capacity (8 bands). The tie-in? Rykarda will be appearing with a track! We’re currently in the process of seeking out bands for Volume Three set for a January release.

The official Lower Class Revolt t-shirts will be available the website in about a week.

Hope to see or talk or hear from you soon!!
