Hello to the members of the Lower Class Revolt!
Just around the corner! On May 20th we’ll be co-presenting a show at the Elbo Room here in San Francisco. You can look forward to stellar performances by the Sons of Eden, Sons of Eden, Buildings Breeding, Boomsnake and Snuffaluffagus. The Elbo Room is in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District. Easy to get here if you live here, so hope to see you there. As is our custome: Four bands, five bucks. Come on by!
On May 27th The Lower Class Revolt is overjoyed to be hosting premiere West Coast hardcore band PULLOUT ! The band has a new release out, “Eagles and Vultures”, so we can all look forward to a ton of new material. San Francisco’s Gutwrench is the main support and opening the show will be Skull Stomp. We may add another band for good measure! This all goes down at the Knockout in San Francisco and is only $5 bucks at the door.
We’re rapidly shifting gears here at LCR headquarters. We’re shirking the old and embracing the new. Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, change is always good even if that change causes a bit of disruption to the comfort zone. . Comfort causes complacency and that in itself is a slow death and we’re not down with that just yet. What’s the definition of insanity? It’s doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So, time for change—stay tuned. Yay!
Say hello when you get the chance,

A huge thanks goes out to Zoe MF Trouble for all of her design or organizational work. And to Katherine Hoffert for filling the gaps!
As with anything, situations change—it’s a people, places and things sorta deal. Quite frankly I’ve been in a period of re-evaluation, coming clean about my demons, my resentments, my loves, my hates and where my life is pointed. At this juncture, I’m half way through that life, if the law of averages are correct and the simple fact is, I’ve been doing this for more than two thirds of that life. Where does the time go? So the last couple months have admittedly been a fucking mess. I’ve lost more than I’ve gained, lost a dear love of my life and somehow stranded myself on an island of the perpetual re-think. All things must pass. My direction will find itself and hopefully as our shows continue the direction will reveal itself further. Thanks for those who’ve been hanging with me and for those who haven’t, I understand why.

Hello to the members of the Lower Class Revolt!
Got your calendar out? Iron a shirt or two. Make a few phones. It’s crazy live music time around here!
Thursday January 22nd 2009: The Lower Class Revolt presents: Built For The Sea, The Aimless Never Miss, and Silian Rail at the Café Du Nord in San Francisco. Tickets are on sale now for just $10 and available via Ticketweb!
Wednesday January 28th 2009: It’ll be the San Francisco release party for The Sleepover Disaster’s new release “Hover” coming out on Devil in the Woods. AND it’s also the release party for Volume#3 of the Lower Class Revolt compilation series. This all goes down at the Knockout.
Friday, February 13th 2009: We got three very amazing bands assembling at the Retox Lounge in San Francisco. Raised by Robots, Evacuee and the latest DIW signees Buildings Breeding. More on this as it gets closer but we can’t think of better way to celebrate a Friday the 13th.
Wednesday February 25th 2009: We are pleased as punch to announce that we’ll be hosting a Happy Hour during Noise Pop at this year’s new venue, Bender!!! And then later in the evening we’ll be moving the festivities over to The Knock Out for yet more sensibly made guitar driven rock. The line-up for both shows has yet to be determined. BUT one line up we’re sure of is the show we’re hosting the same night at the Retox Lounge! The LCR is super stoked to be presenting the best hardcore band, in our humble opinion, on the West Coast—Born/Dead. We’ll have lots more news on this show as well. So we’ve done it, three shows in one day. Call it our warm up to SXSW09!
January 28th 2009– Volume Three of our compilation series: Silian Rail, Built For The Sea, Rademacher, My First Earthquake, The Happy Hollows, Metabear, Lynus, James and Evander, Shiloe and Ironlight River—‘nuff said. We’ll be giving away a limited number of physical copies of this digital only release at the Knock Out on January 28th .
PLEASE NOTE: We’re taking submissions for Volume#4 which is due out in March. So send in that music!
Andy Fosberry of Ironlight River who happens to be appearing on Volume#3 of our compilation series has made an accompanying video for the track “Skeleton Tugs At The Underside”. Check it out here, it’s amazing: http://www.vimeo.com/2852160
Just a couple of quick mentions: Bears! Bears! Bears! blew us away last week at the Retox. We’ve got our hands on the new recordings from Raised By Robots and we’re voting YES! And here’s a quick shout out to our long time friends Conrad and Jason and a tip of our collective hats to their new blog: www.yournewfavoritesong.com Check it out, it’s amazing. Oh, and lets make this the year of service, we all know we need it.
Thanks for everybody who’s ordered a shirt this week!
Take care and say hello when you get the chance,
Mike and Zoe

Hello to the members of the Lower Class Revolt!
Welcome back. We’re so ready for an amazing 2009 that any memory of 2008 is long gone. So lets get started shall we?
The Lower Class Revolt compilation Volume#3 is ready for release on January 29th. The line-up is sturdy and brilliant–featuring some of the best bands we’re bumped into over the last few months: Silian Rail, Built For The Sea, Rademacher, My First Earthquake, The Happy Hollows, Metabear, Lynus, James and Evander, Shiloe and Ironlight River. We’ll probably end up releasing it early just because the sheer anticipation might be too much! Also, we’ll be giving away a limited number of physical copies of this digital release at the Knockout on January 28th! Hope to see you there!
PLEASE NOTE: We’re taking submissions for Volume #4 which is due out in March. So send in that music to info@thelowerclassrevolt.com!
Mike has taken over the talent buying duties at the Retox Lounge in San Francisco. So for those of you who are looking for San Francisco dates outside of our monthly LCR show schedule feel free to email him at: retoxbooking@hotmail.com
Some dates to remember:
Thursday January 22nd 2009: The Lower Class Revolt presents: Built For The Sea, The Aimless Never Miss, and Silian Rail at the Café Du Nord in San Francisco. Tickets are on sale now for just $10 and available via Ticketweb!
Wednesday January 28th 2009: The San Francisco release party for The Sleepover Disaster’s new release “Hover” coming out on Devil in the Woods. AND it’s also the release party for Volume#3 of the Lower Class Revolt compilation series. This all goes down at the Knockout
Friday February 13th, 2009: Raised by Robots, Evacuee, Buildings Breeding. More on this show as it gets closer. This will be the S.F. debut for new Devil in the Woods signees Buildings Breeding.
We’re pretty happy the holidays are over. This year in particular was a very trying time with the economy the way it is, the depressed nature of the majority of the people, all of it just blew. We’re just so very thankful that we were able to bury ourselves in the music that motivates our daily existence and alleviate some of the misery. We’re very encouraged by the scene that swims around us and we’re thankful that it is here! We look forward to bumping into everybody far and near in the coming months.
Take care,
Mike and Zoe
