Hello to the friends of The Lower Class Revolt!
We’re gearing up for our next show here in San Francisco at the Retox Lounge featuring the Spinto Band, The Aimless Never Miss and Silian Rail! The Spinto Band will be here playing a concert for YouTube at Fort Mason the following day in what has to be one of the craziest line ups with the likes of Will.I.Am and Joe Satriani and this will be a warm up gig of sorts for the band. It’s only $5 bucks to get in we’re starting this thing at 9pm. We’d suggest an early arrival!

Thursday January 22nd The Lower Class Revolt and West Coast Performer Magazine presents: Built For The Sea, The Aimless Never Miss, Silian Rail and Shuteye Unison. Tickets are on sale now for just $10! Our friends over at Devil in the Woods Records will be helping out with festivities in order to put the final touches on a special something due out in the Spring.

Wednesday January 28th It’ll be the San Francisco release party for The Sleepover Disaster’s new release “Hover” coming out on Devil in the Woods. AND it’s also the release party for Volume#3 of the Lower Class Revolt compilation series. This all goes down at the Knockout. Also appearing on the bill will be the amazing Silian Rail and San Jose’s Metabear.

And speaking of the compilation–the line-up is set! Silian Rail, Built For The Sea, Rademacher, My First Earthquake,The Happy Hollows, Metabear, James and Evander, Shiloe, and Ironlight River. We’re super pleased, as always with the line-up this time around, can’t wait to have it blasting out of your portable music devices soon!

We’ve been digging through crates of used vinyl again. The two best finds so far? Canada’s best band of the 80s, 54:40 and their first self titled release featuring “baby ran” (WEA, 1986), —made back in the day when major labels had money to give to bands to record. We also found a mint condition copy of Marshall Crenshaw’s self titled first release (WEA, 1982). “Some Day, Some Way”—covered by a million artists but never as good as this original version.

Say hello the next chance you get!

Hello and happy October to those of The Lower Class Revolt! We have a few updates and a couple of points of interest to point out this time around. Please remember to mark your calendar for October 29th! Light FM will be celebrating their debut release “Black Magic Marker” out on Devil in the Woods as part of our live music night at The Knockout. Appearing with Light FM will be the amazing Rademacher and a band you need to know more about–Raised by Robots. Everything will start at 9:30pm—hope to see you there!

And speaking of our label Devil in the Woods, we’ve launched a newly designed website. You can check it out at www.devilinthewoodsrecords.com

We’ve got two spots left for Volume#3 of our compilation series set for January 29th. The deadline for submissions is November 1st so get your songs in now!

And finally we’d like to thank all those involved with the Hardly Strictly Festival for making it special for us (again) this year. We had a wonderful time hanging out with way too many people in the beautiful setting of Golden Gate park. There are so many things that make San Francisco special, and this is surely one them. One small suggestion though—we’re pretty convinced that a “donation” for a $10 ticket with the money going to a designated charity would be a wonderful idea. We appreciate the free admission concept but every year we are blown away by the increasing number of assholes who show up because it’s “free” and have absolutely no concept that maybe some of us are there to see the music.

Thank you for your continued and overwhelming support—the bands truly appreciate it!

Hello! How are the members of the Lower Class Revolt doing? We hope you’re doing well! We’d like to start by sending out a quick note of thanks to the bands who played our Lower Class Revolt compilation release show at The Knockout on September 24th: Evacuee, Form & Fate and Shiloe. A good time was had by all—we gave away some limited edition compilation CDs, listened to a Form and Fate set compromised of entirely new and amazing songs and got to hear all about the new record on the way from Evacuee (we can’t wait!). Everybody can download the compilation for FREE right here on the LCR site. Go to the BUY section and take advantage.

We’re taking submissions for Volume#3 of our Lower Class Revolt compilation series. The deadline is November 1st for a January 29th, 2009 release date. Contact us at: mike@thelowerclassrevolt.com if you’re interested. We have three slots left!

Our long time friend Kevin Bronson had some awkward news come his way. After 18 years of writing the Buzz Bands column of the L.A. Times—mostly on his own time– where he single handedly gave some of today’s biggest bands their first break, the Times felt it necessary to downsize him out of the picture. There’s always a silver lining isn’t there? For Kevin and for us diehard music fans there is! Mr. Bronson has just launched www.buzzbands.la and now his knowledge and insight can be enjoyed daily by his thousands and thousands of readers. AND he’s been so kind to give The Aimless Never Miss a mention. Check it out here: http://buzzbands.la/2008/09/24/the-aimless-never-miss-connect-on-debut We wish Kevin well in his new venture and he’s on our daily must read radar for life.

We also want to mention that we have a couple of massive events coming up in late October. Light FM will be hosting two release parties for the impending Devil in the Woods release “black magic marker”. The first will be in Los Angeles on October 21st at Boardner’s. We hope to see all of our SoCal friends there! The San Francisco release party will be held on October 29th at the Knockout. And of course we hope to see our Bay Area friends there as well. More details as we get closer to the events.

The Sleepover Disaster’s new release “hover” went into production this week. We’ll be leaking some of the new tracks onto the site in the coming weeks before their February 10th, 2009 release date.

A quick mention: The Aimless Never Miss’ Jonny Latimer is currently over in Europe with our good friends Built For The Sea for a three week tour. Jonny checked in—everybody is alive and well! Look for a slew of Aimless Never Miss dates in November and December.
Thanks to everybody for the continued support.

Hello to all of those who ride along with The Lower Class Revolt! It’s been amazingly busy here in our cluttered office nestled in the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. A big round of thanks to all who attended The Aimless Never Miss CD release party. For all of you who picked up the CD at the show, thank you! For those of you who want to pick up the CD now, by all means feel free to visit our E-store where there will be limited edition badge sets given away *free* with each CD purchase!
The Aimless Never Miss have a new video for their song “Bound” available for viewing here:
YOUTUBE

Check out this review for The Aimless Never Miss that’s going to run in The Big Takeover in October.

“Capitalizing on the use of voice distortion and transient crescendos, this San Francisco five piece creates a cinematic sound beginning with “The Point of Playing” exuding a distinctive musical narrative while serving as an auditory throwback to the yesteryears of indie rock. “The Obvious” evokes fond memories of Sunny Day Real Estate, while still managing to feel like an original reconstruction of Diary’s “Shadows.” Tracks such as “Dresden,” “Nothing to Gain,” and “The Bright Side” are contemplative but sparingly so, resulting in an overall feel of a whispered suggestion, subdued but definite. Ending with the lyrical guitar riffs of “Suburban Seas,” the ANM hit the mark. “

Next up on the calendar will be the release party for The Lower Class Revolt Volume #2 on Wednesday September 24th at The Knockout in San Francisco. Evacuee, Shiloe and Form and Fate will be supplying the live music and we’ll be giving away a few limited edition physical copies of this *free* download at the show. For those of you who live in San Francisco, see you there. For those of you who reside outside of the area, help yourself to this free compilation on September 24th featuring Citay, Rykarda Parasol, All Smiles, Shuteye Unison, Carcrashlander, Evacuee, Harbours, Kelly Blair Bauman, Kid Mud, and Form and Fate.
We’ve got t-shirts for sale in the *clothing* section of our e-store. Great shirts, super inexpensive. Enjoy.
We’ve got a lot on tap in the coming months. More live shows than you can shake a stick at and our label is readying the release of the full length debut of Light FM and their release “Black Magic Marker”. You can catch a poor man’s preview at www.myspace.com/lightfm.
A big rousing thank you to all of you for the support. Really.
